The Ideology of Solidarity is an attempt to introduce the importance of solidarity in the midst of a defragmented hedonistic culture. By breaking down the pursuit of happiness in modern culture, the artist studies the impact of institutional oppression and popular culture on the psychology of the modern person. Capitalism and meritocracy created an age of passive individualism, but true power lies in the informed and united collective. The Ideology of Solidarity is the artist’s struggle with the contemporary society and how she seeks comfort in the destructive chaos.
